With SPIELFELD, the Volkstheater Rostock dedicates its own festival to theatre for young audiences. Over several weeks from May to July, the house's youngest festival format focuses on children's, youth, and family theatre. The fourth edition of the SPIELFELD festival runs from May 2 to July 12, 2026. The opening features the premieres »Tschick« (ages 13+) and »Wolf« (ages 10+). In addition, there are repertoire pieces, family concerts, workshops, and original productions by the theatre clubs in the Ateliertheater.

From May 2 to July 12, 2026, the fourth edition of the SPIELFELD festival will take place at the Volkstheater Rostock. For several weeks, the festival focuses on theatre for children, adolescents, and families. The opening features two premieres, complemented by repertoire pieces, family concerts, and participatory formats. The Ateliertheater will host original productions by the house's theatre clubs as well as by school groups from the city and region.
