Two-day spring festival of the Feilbingert volunteer fire brigade on the first May weekend
The Feuerwehrfest Feilbingert is one of the first major club festivals of the season in the northern Naheland region. On the first May weekend, the Feilbingert volunteer fire brigade invites you for two days of convivial celebration with catering, entertainment, and a club atmosphere. The venue is the festival grounds at the fire station, which will be equipped with a marquee, food stalls, and a stage for the weekend.
Events like the Feuerwehrfest are an important source of income for volunteer fire brigades to fund equipment, youth work, and club life. At the same time, the firefighters demonstrate their commitment to the community in a relaxed atmosphere – and invite residents and guests to celebrate together.
The Feilbingert volunteer fire brigade is one of the pillars of village life. In addition to fire protection and technical assistance, the volunteer comrades take on numerous community tasks in the village: providing security at festivals, participating in parades, youth work in the youth fire brigade, and preserving village traditions. The annual Feuerwehrfest is their big open day.
The festival is spread over Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday evening, the event kicks off with the dance evening: live music or a DJ will create the atmosphere in the marquee. On Sunday morning, the traditional Frühschoppen (morning pint) with brass music or a local band follows. Lunch features a hearty meal – often with stew, spareribs, Schwenkbraten (grilled pork neck), or the famous Feuerwehr-Spießbraten (fire brigade spit-roast). In the afternoon, there's coffee and cake from the local women, as well as a children's program centered around the fire engines.
For children, the Feuerwehrfest is often the highlight of the year: the emergency vehicles are displayed, the firefighters explain equipment and technology, and sometimes there are demonstrations with hoses or cutting tools. The Feilbingert youth fire brigade also presents its work and recruits new members.
Feilbingert (postal code 55595) is a municipality in the Verbandsgemeinde Bad Kreuznach with around 1,800 inhabitants. The village lies on the western edge of the Hunsrück hills, nestled in a landscape of meadows, forests, and vineyards. Feilbingert is also known for the Lemberg, a volcanic cone with a castle ruin, and for the Latwerchfest (plum butter festival) in September.
The Feuerwehrfest Feilbingert 2026 will take place on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May at the festival grounds near the fire station. The Feilbingert volunteer fire brigade is the organizer. A two-day program is offered with a dance evening, Frühschoppen, a hearty lunch, coffee and cake, and a children's program. Free admission.
The detailed program (Saturday's dance band, Sunday's Frühschoppen band, culinary highlights) will be announced by the Feilbingert volunteer fire brigade a few weeks before the date on the event page of the VG Bad Kreuznach.
The exact 2026 program will be published by the organizer in spring. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
