Overview

In 2025, Volkstheater Rostock again used Hall 207 of the former Neptunwerft for its summer program of musicals, concerts, and crossover events. The ninth edition continued the tradition of the Volkstheatersommer and, with its success, laid the foundation for the tenth anniversary season in 2026.

The 2025 Volkstheatersommer again took place in the impressive Hall 207 on the grounds of the former Neptunwerft. Throughout the summer months, Volkstheater Rostock transformed the historic shipbuilding forge from 1911 into a venue for musicals, philharmonic concerts, and crossover evenings.

As in previous years, major summer musicals were the focus of the program, complemented by concerts from the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock. The series attracted audiences from the Hanseatic city and the entire Mecklenburg-Vorpommern region to the industrial backdrop on the Warnow riverbank, confirming the Volkstheatersommer as a firm fixture in the cultural summer calendar.
