Three open-air summer evenings with handmade live music on the Mulde riverbank — June 6, July 4, and August 1, 2026
Grimma is one of the most beautiful towns in Mittelsachsen — located on the banks of the Mulde river, with a Gothic cloister church, romantic town walls, and burgher houses from various centuries. In summer, the Mulde riverbank near the Cloister Church becomes an open-air stage: The Grimma city administration organizes the series “Alles am Fluss — Uferklänge” there on three summer evenings. A quiet, intimate form of event that rethinks the festival concept — not big, not loud, but relaxed by the river, with picnic blankets on the grass.
The 2026 season includes three concert evenings: Saturday, June 6, 2026 (season opener), Saturday, July 4, 2026 (Midsummer concert), and Saturday, August 1, 2026 (high summer finale). Starting around 7 PM each day, ending at dusk. Specific bands will be announced in spring 2026. The program features handmade live music — acoustic singer-songwriters, folk, light jazz and soul formats, occasionally classical crossover. The deliberate absence of loud electronic amplification is part of the concept — the atmosphere by the water is meant to be savored.
The format is accessible: Visitors bring blankets or folding chairs, along with picnic baskets filled with bread, cheese, wine, and everything that contributes to a summer evening atmosphere. There is a small beer and wine stand on site, as well as bratwurst and ice cream. The audience spreads out on the meadow in front of the Cloister Church, on the bank of the Mulde — families with children, couples, groups of friends, singles with books. The music accompanies, without dominating.
The Grimma Cloister Church is a former church of an Augustinian canonry, now deconsecrated but used as a venue. It stands directly on the Mulde riverbank — the view from the concert area of the church, the Mulde, and the opposite bank is one of the most beautiful in Mittelsachsen. At sunset, the sandstone of the church turns golden-red, the Mulde reflects the light, and the music drifts over the water. This is Uferklänge — and it is precisely this atmosphere that makes the format unique.
Grimma is located in the Leipzig district, about a half-hour drive southeast of Leipzig. The town has around 27,000 inhabitants and is one of the most traditional in Mittelsachsen — from a university town in the 16th century to the devastation of the floods in 2002 and 2013, which repeatedly hit the town and are now part of its history. Today, Grimma is a lively small town with cultural aspirations — Uferklänge is part of this commitment.

The program features handmade live music — singer-songwriters, folk, acoustic jazz and soul formats. Deliberately quiet, deliberately acoustic, deliberately relaxed. Visitors bring a blanket or folding chair, spread out on the meadow by the Mulde riverbank, unpack their picnics or buy bratwurst, beer, or wine on site. With the Cloister Church behind them and the Mulde in front, watching the sunset over the water — it's one of the most relaxed festival formats you can find.
Specific acts by name will be announced in spring 2026 on grimma.de.
