The most important Volksfest in the Tuttlingen district
Over the past decades, the Tuttlinger Volksfest has established itself as the most important folk festival in the Tuttlingen district. For ten days, it attracts showmen, families, young adults, and tourists from the region to the Donauwiese — the large fairground directly at Donaupark, Stuttgarter Straße 54. In 2026, the Volksfest runs from May 29 to June 7.
Fairground on the Danube
The Donauwiese is located north of Tuttlingen's city center, by the Donaupark. Large parking area, level ground, connection to the Danube Cycle Path — the venue is ideal for a Volksfest of this size. Classic fairground attractions find space here: Ferris wheel, carousels, roller coasters, bumper cars, children's rides. In addition, food stalls, a beer garden, a beer tent stage, and catering stands.
Children's and Family Day on Wednesday
An established tradition of the Tuttlinger Volksfest is the Children's and Family Day on Wednesday: On this weekday, the showmen offer most rides at significantly reduced prices. The most economical way for families from Tuttlingen and the surrounding area to visit the festival. School children and families from all over the district take advantage of the opportunity.
Spectacular Fireworks on Friday, June 5
The highlight of the second festival weekend is the spectacular fireworks display on Friday, June 5, 2026, after dark. The grand stage fireworks over the Donauwiese are among the most-watched program items of the festival and attract thousands of additional visitors. Early arrival is recommended, as the fairground and surrounding streets fill up quickly.
Beer Tent and Catering
Live music with regional bands and cover acts is featured in the beer tent on several evenings. Classic folk festival foods — bratwurst, grilled fish, half chickens, schnitzel — are served at the food stalls. In the beer garden, you'll find the typical Swabian festival beers served in liter mugs, complemented by non-alcoholic alternatives.
Tuttlingen — City on the Danube, City of Medical Technology
Tuttlingen, with its approximately 38,000 inhabitants, is the district capital of the Tuttlingen district and a world-renowned center for medical technology. The Danube breakthrough through the Swabian Jura begins immediately above the city — nature hikers know the Beuroner Donaupark, the Wimsener Höhle cave, and Wildenstein Castle. Those visiting the Volksfest can easily combine their stay with Danube tours.
Gebauer Vogt Veranstaltungen — The Organizer
The festival has been organized for years by Gebauer Vogt Veranstaltungen GmbH in close cooperation with the City of Tuttlingen. The company is responsible for other fairground events in Southern Germany and ensures the organizational and logistical quality of the Tuttlinger Volksfest year after year.
