30th Anniversary — One of Southern Germany's Best Summer Festivals
The Honberg-Sommer is nothing less than the flagship of Tuttlingen's cultural activities. Since 1997, Tuttlinger Hallen GmbH has organized this summer festival, which has become one of the most respected open-air events in Southern Germany. 2026 is the anniversary year — the 30th edition — which is also reflected in the lineup: top-class acts from multiple genres, plus a covered marquee with fixed seating in the spectacular backdrop of the Honburg Ruins, high above Tuttlingen on the edge of the Black Forest.
Genre Mosaic: From Pop to Gothic
The programming of the Honberg-Sommer is deliberately broad — and that is precisely its strength. Over two weeks, the following will be performed: Pop (Münchner Freiheit, ClockClock, Sophia), Rock (Gotthard, Dick Brave), Singer-Songwriter (Michael Schulte), Blues and Soul, Classical Crossover (Café del Mundo, the Spanish guitar duo), Gothic Metal (Beyond the Black), Cabaret, and Circus Evenings. This diversity allows a broad audience to attend individual concerts — and makes the festival a cultural anchor for the entire Tuttlingen region.
Highlights 2026
The headliner dates for 2026 read like a 'best of' of German-language and international live music: Dick Brave & The Backbeats (July 10th, Sasha's project in rockabilly mode), Sophia (July 11th, German soul singer), Café del Mundo (July 12th, the guitar duo Jan Pascal/Alexander Kilian with "GuiTaRevolution"), ClockClock (July 17th, Austrian pop sensation), Michael Schulte (July 19th, Hamburg, Eurovision representative 2018, over 15 million monthly Spotify streams), Münchner Freiheit (July 21st, Munich pop classics), Gotthard (July 23rd, Swiss hard rock institution). Beyond the Black (Symphonic Metal) is also announced for the "Rising High 2026" tour.
Atmosphere at the Honburg Ruins
The Honburg Ruins are located on a ridge above Tuttlingen — the remains of a medieval castle destroyed in the 17th century. The festival organizer has erected a covered marquee with fixed seating here; many concerts are held while seated, which shapes the acoustics and concert atmosphere. The ascent to the ruins is part of the experience — in warm summer light, with views over Tuttlingen and the Danube Valley, the Honberg-Sommer becomes an event that is far more than just a festival.
