Return with a new concept — Tuttlingen celebrates its city festival anew after a year's break
On September 19 and 20, 2026, Tuttlingen will celebrate its Stadtfest (city festival) anew after a year's break. In 2025, the city switched to an alternating concept with NachtKulTour — both formats have alternated annually since then. So, 2026 is the year for the big city festival again, and it comes with a completely rethought concept that creates more freedom for the clubs and shorter logistics routes.
Instead of a single large festival area, Tuttlingen's city center will be divided into several clearly defined zones in 2026:
The Stadtfest will benefit from around 60+ exhibitors. The city will handle security, cleaning, and permit tasks, while the clubs receive their areas free of charge and design their presentations themselves.
On Saturday, September 19, the large classic car exhibition is a highlight — historic vehicles and collector's models will be parked in the city center. Live music with regional bands will be performed on the stages. The extensive children's program is spread across several stations with bouncy castles, craft activities, and hands-on offers. On Sunday, September 20, the family program and the closing ceremony on the Danube will follow.
With around 37,000 inhabitants, Tuttlingen is the largest city on the upper Danube and the district capital of the Tuttlingen district. Known as the "world center of medical technology," the city is home to around 400 medical technology companies — Aesculap, Karl Storz, and KLS Martin are headquartered here. Tuttlingen is located on the Swabian Jura and at the gateway to the Upper Danube Nature Park with its spectacular Danube Gorge. From the Marktplatz, you can reach the Danube riverside paths and the City Museum in the Fruchtkasten within minutes.
The Stadtfest Tuttlingen has a long tradition. With the new concept in 2026, the city is responding to the changing needs of clubs and visitors: smaller, focused zones instead of an overloaded large area, more self-responsibility for the clubs, and clearer profiles for each street section. The budget is around 100,000 euros — a figure that is made more sustainable with the alternating NachtKulTour/Stadtfest model.
From September 19 to 20, 2026, the Stadtfest Tuttlingen is back. After a year's break (the NachtKulTour took place instead in 2025) and with a completely revised concept, the festival activities will be spread across five modular zones in the city center.
The clubs will have their own area in Weimarstraße, professional caterers the Bahnhofstraße, the Marktplatz will become the central stage, and Gartenstraße the cultural stage. Over 60 exhibitors, a classic car exhibition on Saturday, and a large children's program.
Free admission to all program points, stages, and stalls.
By car: A81 exit Tuttlingen, then into the city center. Attention: Parking in the city center is severely restricted during the festival — Park & Walk on the outskirts is recommended. By train: Tuttlingen station (RE Stuttgart–Singen, IRE Karlsruhe–Konstanz), about a 5-minute walk from the station to Bahnhofstraße.
Free admission to all program points, stages, and stalls.
Combine your visit to the Stadtfest with a hike in the Upper Danube Nature Park (Danube Gorge from Tuttlingen) or an excursion to the Witthoh — from there, you have the best view over the city and the Danube.
