Grand Fasnets parade by the Honberger through Tuttlingen's city center
On Saturday, February 14, 2026, Fasnetsamstag, the 47th Tuttlingen Fasnetsumzug will parade through the city center of Tuttlingen, a 'Große Kreisstadt' (major district town). Around 60 groups, floats, and music bands from the Swabian-Alemannic Fasnet region will participate. The organizer has always been the Narrenverein Honberger, one of the traditional jester guilds on the upper Neckar.
The parade will proceed along Untere Hauptstraße, Weimarstraße, Olgastraße, and Bahnhofstraße — a route of approximately 1.5 kilometers through the heart of Tuttlingen's city center. The entire city center will be closed to vehicle traffic from 11:30 AM. Residents can leave the city center via the Scala bridge until approximately 1 PM. Absolute parking ban along the route; assembly areas (Königstraße, Gerberstraße, Kanalstraße) also have restricted access.
A new feature in 2026: for the first time since the parade's inception, confetti will be banned. The reason behind this is the enormous cleaning costs in previous years — in 2025 alone, tons of confetti had to be removed from the city center. The Honberger and the city have agreed on this measure to reduce costs and environmental impact. Streamers and candy remain permitted — so the fun hasn't diminished, it's just become a bit 'greener'.
The Narrenverein Honberger Tuttlingen is one of the oldest and largest jester guilds in the region. With its Honberger Schalksnarren (jesters), Schalksengel (jester angels), Hexen (witches), and music groups, the association has shaped the Swabian-Alemannic Fasnet tradition in Tuttlingen for decades. The Honbergsommer (Honberg Summer) festival and the Fasnetsumzug in winter are the two annual highlights of the Honberger.
Tuttlingen, with around 36,000 inhabitants, is the capital of the Tuttlingen district, located on the upper Neckar between the Black Forest and the Swabian Jura. The city is considered the world capital of medical technology (Aesculap, Karl Storz, Karl Leibinger, and many more) — a globally unique industrial cluster with over 400 medical technology companies. The Swabian-Alemannic Fasnet is the most important cultural tradition of the city and shapes urban life annually from Epiphany to Ash Wednesday.
