Tradition since 1951

A procession in traditional costume to Ecker Berg
The pilgrimage procession starts at Siegsdorf's Kirchplatz (church square), led by the Siegsdorf pilgrimage cross and the Gau standard. Up to 3,000 participants in full traditional costume from almost 100 associations make the long journey up to the Maria Eck pilgrimage church on Ecker Berg.
Reception with cannon shots
As has been customary since the beginning of the pilgrimage, the pilgrims are welcomed upon arrival at Maria Eck by marksmen with a resounding salute. The traditional service of thanks and intercession is celebrated there.
Living tradition and faith
The Trachtenwallfahrt combines lived faith with the preservation of Upper Bavarian traditional costume and culture. The impressive sight of thousands of participants in traditional costume on their way to the mountain church makes it one of the most atmospheric traditional events in the region.
