The Palatinate Wine Festival Traunstein brings the wine and enjoyment culture of the Palatinate right into the heart of Upper Bavaria's Chiemgau region. The venue is the Traunsteiner Stadtplatz (town square) in the town of Traunstein (Traunstein district). The focus is on Palatinate wine: Fresh wines are served by the glass at the 'Schoppenstand' (wine stand) in the Palatinate style, and a wine tasting station offers a selection of white, rosé, and red wines from various vintages. Palatinate sparkling wines are also available.

The Palatinate Wine Festival 2026 will be celebrated from Wednesday, August 12, to Saturday, August 15, 2026, on Traunstein's town square. The opening is on Wednesday at 6:00 PM with the tapping of the first barrel. From Thursday to Saturday, the town square opens at 10:00 AM for Palatinate wines and sparkling wines at the 'Schoppenstand' (wine stand) and a wine tasting station featuring white, rosé, and red wines. Accompanying this are Palatinate specialties – Saumagen, Flammkuchen, and Bratwurst – delivered directly from the Palatinate and prepared by the brewery inn Schnitzlbaumer.
