Culture in Münster's Schlossgarten

The VIELSICHT Festival uses the spacious Schlossgarten Münster, framed by the Lipper Tor and the castle, as an open festival area. The chosen venue is programmatic: instead of a classic concert hall, the festival relies on open-air with distributed stations — stages for music, yurts as art exhibition spaces, meadow areas for workshops and performances.

Interdisciplinary Program — Music Meets Art Meets Workshop

The program combines Art-Pop, Rap, DJ sets, Neoclassicism, and chamber music on the musical side with art installations in yurts, participatory workshops (including upcycling), outdoor performances, and a relaxed picnic atmosphere. Confirmed acts for 2026: Hymen, Otter, and several chamber music ensembles.

Saturday Loud, Sunday Family-Friendly

Saturday, May 9th, 2026, from 4:00 PM is the main musical evening with the most acts and DJ sets. Sunday, May 10th, 2026, until 6:00 PM is deliberately designed to be family-friendly — picnic space on the lawn, quieter programs, more workshops for children, and encounters between artists and the audience.

Münster — Cycling City with an Active Cultural Scene

The independent city of Münster in Westphalia is famous for its dense cycling culture, its university (around 50,000 students), its historic old town with the Prinzipalmarkt and the town hall of the Peace of Westphalia — and, of course, for the Skulptur Projekte, which turn the city into the capital of art every ten years. The VIELSICHT Festival joins a vibrant art and music scene that deliberately distinguishes itself from big-city festival formats.
