Garden and Lifestyle Fair in the Historic Monastery Gardens
The Tölzer Rosentage have been held in the gardens of the former Franziskanerkloster (Franciscan monastery) in Bad Tölz since 2002. The organizer is Tölzer Rosentage GmbH, which conceived the fair as a showcase for garden, living, and lifestyle. The 25th anniversary edition in 2026 underscores the long success of this format, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors from Upper Bavaria, Tyrol, and Salzburg to the Upper Bavarian spa town every Pentecost weekend.
The venue comprises three historically connected garden areas: the Rosengarten (Rose Garden), the Franziskanerpark (Franciscan Park), and the Klostergarten (Monastery Garden). These grounds around the former Franciscan monastery in the Gries district are among the most beautiful inner-city gardens in Upper Bavaria. Walls and boxwood hedges divide the garden spaces into intimate sectors, old trees provide shade, and in the midst of the roses' peak bloom, the grounds offer the ideal stage for the fair.
Around 160 exhibitors populate the gardens:
The exhibitors come from Bavaria, all over Germany, and neighboring countries (Austria, Switzerland, Italy) – a high curatorial standard ensures quality.
In addition to the fair itself, the anniversary edition offers an attractive supporting program:
Bad Tölz, a town in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, is one of Bavaria's most famous spa towns. The historic market street with its painted burgher houses, the Isar river on the outskirts, and its proximity to the Alps make the town a popular travel destination. The Rosentage expand this profile with a major cultural event of supra-regional appeal – they are one of Bavaria's most important Pentecost attractions.
For its 25th anniversary, the Tölzer Rosentage are presenting an expanded program. On the opening evening, May 22, the ensemble cosi facciamo with soprano Stephanie Krug invites you to the Protestant community center for a Baroque love song concert. On Saturday, May 23, the renowned Bavarian actress Johanna Bittenbinder will make an appearance in the monastery gardens – a home game for the artist who lives in Bad Tölz. On all four days, the rose gardens at the Franciscan monastery will be in full bloom, and exhibitors will fill every square meter of the historic garden area. The day ticket for €15 allows multiple entries – ideal for exploring the fair in several stages.
