Late Summer Kirmes in the Kannenbäckerland

Every year, the Kirmes Staudt marks the late summer finale in the Westerwald's Kannenbäckerland (potters' region). Staudt is located in the Verbandsgemeinde Höhr-Grenzhausen, a region renowned for its ceramic tradition far beyond Rhineland-Palatinate. The municipality of Staudt publicly lists its event calendar and announces the Kirmes as a fixed fixture.

Festival Tent, Music, and Fun

The Kirmes programme spans four days: festival tent evenings with live music, morning pint gatherings (Frühschoppen), a family afternoon, carousels, rides, food stalls, and stands selling sweets and drinks. Associations and local businesses from Staudt and the surrounding area participate in catering and the programme.

Westerwald Customs

Like many Westerwald Kirmes events, the Kirmes Staudt follows a traditional schedule that brings the village community together. The tapping of the first beer keg (Fassanstich) on Friday evening, the weekend of dancing, the morning pint gathering on Sunday, and the closing evening on Monday set the rhythm that has become a firm summer tradition for many families.

Staudt is situated in the southern Westerwald, within the Verbandsgemeinde Höhr-Grenzhausen. Its location between Koblenz, Montabaur, and Limburg ensures good accessibility. The Kirmes complements the dense network of Kirmes and Volksfest dates that characterise the Westerwald summer.
