Inter-municipal open-air cinema summer across three locations: Kleinmachnow shows "Barbie" on June 13th and "What's Love Got to Do with It?" on July 11th
The TKS-Kinosommer is an inter-municipal film series network of the three municipalities Teltow, Kleinmachnow, and Stahnsdorf — all located in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district and immediately on the southwestern outskirts of Berlin. The network pools the resources and audiences of the three municipalities to finance an attractive summer cinema program — an unusual form of inter-municipal cultural work in Brandenburg.
In Kleinmachnow, the film evenings take place in the inner courtyard of the town hall — an atmospheric, sheltered setting that also offers protection from rain (in case of bad weather, the screening will take place in the town hall). Both Kleinmachnow dates in 2026: June 13th with "Barbie" (US comedy by Greta Gerwig 2023) and July 11th with "What's Love Got to Do with It?" (French comedy). Start each evening at 10:00 PM, with darkness being the practical prerequisite for the open-air screening.
The overall program includes six film evenings between June 13th and August 1st, 2026, distributed among the three TKS locations. In Stahnsdorf (meadow by the town hall/fire station): June 27th "Monsieur Claude and His Big Feast" and August 1st "Ticket to Paradise". In Teltow (August-Mattausch-Park): July 4th "The Perfect Secret" and July 25th "The Nickname". The mix of films combines current comedies and successful movies.
Chairs are sufficiently available; blankets and cushions may be brought along, pets must stay at home. Complimentary refreshments are offered. Weather-related changes are possible — visitors should keep an eye on the communication channels of the respective municipality.
Teltow, Kleinmachnow, and Stahnsdorf are located immediately on the southwestern outskirts of Berlin, easily accessible by S-Bahn and bus. With the TKS-Kinosommer, the network emphasizes free, high-quality cultural work in a region often perceived as Berlin's "dormitory belt" — a conscious positioning as a cultural hub.
The 2026 edition brings two open-air film evenings to Kleinmachnow. The film selection combines a current bestseller (Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" 2023) with a classic romantic comedy. Screenings start at 10:00 PM — sunset at 9:30 PM in June and 9:00 PM in July makes a later start necessary.
Embedded within the overall TKS network program, there are six film evenings between June 13th and August 1st, 2026, spread across Teltow, Kleinmachnow, and Stahnsdorf.
Free admission. Complimentary refreshments are offered. Chairs available on site.
