Cinema under the Stars in the TKS Network
Summer evenings, a blanket on the grass, popcorn in hand, the starry sky above the screen — open-air cinema is one of the simplest and most beautiful summer activities, bringing films back to the fresh air. The municipalities of Teltow, Kleinmachnow, and Stahnsdorf — colloquially known as the TKS network — have been pursuing this path together for years, organizing a small but fine cinema summer as an inter-municipal cultural partnership. Several film evenings are spread across all three municipalities; in Teltow, two dates are scheduled in August-Mattausch-Park in 2026.
July 4 — “Das perfekte Geheimnis”
The Teltow film evenings begin on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 10:00 PM with the German comedy “Das perfekte Geheimnis”. The German adaptation of the Italian hit film Perfetti sconosciuti tells the story of seven long-time friends who put their mobile phones on the table during a dinner party and read aloud to each other any messages, calls, or images they receive. What starts as a game escalates into a disaster — and tests every single relationship of those present. One of the most successful German comedies of recent years.
July 25 — “Der Spitzname”
Three weeks later, on Saturday, July 25, at 10:00 PM, “Der Spitzname” follows. Sönke Wortmann's comedy about a family clashing during a dinner party after a funeral builds on the successful predecessors “Der Vorname” and “Der Nachname”. The mix of precise wit, top-class acting (Christoph Maria Herbst, Iris Berben, Caroline Peters, among others), and keen social observation makes the third installment of the series a perfect summer comedy.
August-Mattausch-Park — The Venue
The venue is August-Mattausch-Park, a green lawn in the south of Teltow. The park is named after August Mattausch, a 19th-century Teltow resident, and offers an ideal open-air cinema location with its wide grassy area surrounded by old trees. The screen is set up on site, and the films start at dusk (around 10 PM). Spectators should bring folding chairs or blankets. Food stalls and a drinks cart provide refreshments — the cinema evening can become a relaxed picnic.
Teltow and the TKS Triangle
Teltow, with nearly 27,000 inhabitants, is one of Brandenburg's fastest-growing cities, located directly on Berlin's southern city limits. Together with Kleinmachnow and Stahnsdorf, the city forms a geographically and culturally close network that has been successfully implementing joint projects for years — from the S-Bahn connection to the cinema summer. If you want to combine the cinema summer with other events: In Kleinmachnow and Stahnsdorf, other film evenings are taking place at their respective open-air venues.
