12th edition of the singer-songwriter festival in the Alte TÜV-Halle by the Oberer See
What began as a small insider tip is now one of the most important singer-songwriter festivals in Southern Germany: the Böblinger Songtage. From August 6th to 8th, 2026, the 12th edition will take place in the atmospheric Alte TÜV-Halle by the Oberer See. The festival thrives on closeness, openness, and musical diversity — the hall offers a maximum of 800 seats, and the audience sits close enough to the stage to feel the artists' breath. You won't experience a mass event here, but rather a concentrated, intimate festival with high musical standards.
The program focuses on German-speaking artists from the fields of pop, indie, and singer-songwriter. Past years have featured acts like Bosse, Annett Louisan, Max Mutzke, Madsen, Roland Kaiser cover bands, Tom Beck, and many well-known indie stars from the German scene on the TÜV-Halle stage. The organizers select with care — all three evenings are programmed independently, each day stands on its own. The mix of emotional depth and musical originality is its hallmark.
The Alte TÜV-Halle by the Oberer See is a former industrial hall from the early 20th century, which has served as an event venue for many years. High ceilings, old steel beams, a raw industrial ambiance — and at the same time, surprisingly good acoustics. The stage is not too high, the lighting design is minimalist, and the character is more club than concert hall. This atmosphere perfectly suits the music of the Song Days — intimate, acoustic, personal. You are rarely more than 20 meters from the stage.
The Song Days are a highlight of the city's summer event series "Sommer am See", which runs from June 25th to September 13th, 2026. The program includes open-air concerts by the Oberer See, cinema nights, comedy, and culinary events. Those with a Song Days ticket can often start their day by the lake — a walk, dinner by the lake, then the concert in the TÜV-Halle. This integration makes the Song Days an experience that extends far beyond the concerts.
The medium-sized city of Böblingen, with around 50,000 inhabitants, is located in the southwestern commuter belt of Stuttgart and is the district capital of the Landkreis Böblingen. Known for its historic Schlossbergpark, the Bauernkriegsmuseum (Peasants' War Museum), and its connection to neighboring Sindelfingen via the shared airfield. With the Song Days, the city has created a cultural flagship since 2015 that receives supra-regional attention — the mix of urban location, intimate festival atmosphere, and careful artist selection is rare in this form.
The 12th edition of the Böblinger Songtage continues the tradition of the intimate singer-songwriter festival. Three concert evenings with a carefully curated program — each evening features independent artists from the German-speaking scene. The organizers rely on the mix of established names and emerging acts that has characterized the Song Days for years.
The festival is embedded in the "Sommer am See" event series (June 25th to September 13th, 2026), which simultaneously features an open-air program along the lake shore.
