About May Fair Nordhorn
May Fair Nordhorn — edition 2026
Four Days of Volksfest
The 2026 edition maintains the established four-day structure, making full use of the Whit weekend. Whit Monday as Family Day and the closing fireworks have become established programme points in recent years.
Tiki Taki XXL as a Visual Motif
With the new giant swing, the 2026 May Fair gains a dominant visual motif. The 46.5-meter-high structure is clearly visible from both the city centre and the Vechtesee shore paths, and will shape the festival's image.

Volksfest by the Vechtesee
The Neumarkt in Nordhorn is located directly on the Vechtesee and serves as the city's central festival grounds. With its waterside panorama, proximity to the city centre, and ample space, it's the ideal location for a Volksfest that attracts showmen from all over Germany and the Netherlands every spring and autumn. The May Fair is the larger of the two annual events and runs for four days over the May bank holiday weekend.
2026 Novelty: Giant Swing Tiki Taki XXL
The Tiki Taki XXL is one of the most spectacular swing constructions currently touring German Volksfeste. Standing 46.5 meters tall, it swings its passengers far over the Vechtesee, offering a ride experience rarely found in Northern Germany. The swing is visible from the city centre and shapes the image of the 2026 May Fair.
Classic Rides and Stalls
In addition, the well-known classics return. The Breakdance No. 2 is a family favourite that has been a staple at North German fairs for years. The Power-Express is an action ride with high acceleration, while the Speed Drive XXL combines speed with carousel geometry. Alongside these are shooting galleries, game stalls, sweet stalls, food vendors, and small carousels for the youngest visitors.
Family Day and Closing Fireworks
Whit Monday is dedicated to families. From 4 PM to 7 PM, magician clown Oli and Felinchen perform, and many rides offer special prices for children. In the evening, the fireworks display at 10 PM provides the festive climax of the four days. The spectacle is organised by the event holder together with the showmen and uses the Vechtesee as a reflective surface.
Bummelpass for Multiple Rides
With the 'Bummelpass' for 15 Euros, visitors can enjoy multiple rides at a reduced price. This makes the May Fair an affordable outing, especially for families.
