Open-air concert in the courtyard of Konradsreuth Castle
SummerSounds originated from Konradsreuth resident Sven Konhäuser, who, after four years in the Upper Franconian municipality in the Hof district, presented his idea to the municipal council: small, atmospherically dense courtyard concerts in Konradsreuth Castle — inspired by the successful courtyard concert programs in neighboring communities like Köditz. The premiere took place in 2024; since then, the format has become a firm fixture in the town's summer calendar.
The courtyard of Konradsreuth Castle is an extraordinary concert venue: baroque walls on four sides, a limited seating area for approx. 200–300 guests, and acoustics that singers and the audience alike appreciate. The atmosphere is intimate, the setting unmistakable — not a mass concert, but a summer highlight for the Hof/Saaletal region and its music lovers.
Konhäuser's motivation is the joy of organizing: 'I enjoy organizing something and I enjoy it when others have fun.' The concept is accessible — concerts in a familiar neighborhood, without major advance booking hurdles, featuring regional or national acts whose style fits the castle courtyard: singer/songwriters, acoustic rock bands, small big band or cover ensembles.
Konradsreuth (approx. 3,000 inhabitants) is located in the Hof district between Hof and Münchberg, on the edge of the Frankenwald forest. The 2026 event calendar also includes the Schupfenfest in Wölbersbach (May), the Wiesenfest in the Bürgerpark (June), as well as various sports festivals and Kirchweihen (church consecrations) in the autumn.
The 2026 edition is officially registered in the Konradsreuth municipal event calendar for Friday, June 26. Initiator Sven Konhäuser curates the program and designs the evening together with helpers from the town.
Due to the limited capacity in the historic castle courtyard, early information via the SummerSounds Facebook page and the municipal website is recommended. In case of rain risk, a short-term decision will be made about the performance on the concert day itself.
Note: The SummerSounds initiative operates on an accessible level and communicates program details at short notice. Those planning ahead should keep an eye on the initiative's social media channels starting in early June 2026.
Konradsreuth Castle is located directly in the town center. By car via the A9 (exit Hof/Münchberg-Süd) or the A93. Parking spaces in the town and at the castle are signposted.
Start typically in the early evening (from 6:00–7:00 PM), admission one hour before. The exact times will be communicated in advance on the Facebook page and the municipal website.
Capacity is limited — tickets are usually offered in advance through local vendors and the initiative. Current price information and purchase sources shortly before the date.
In case of bad weather, the event will be relocated or postponed — information will be provided on the concert day via social media channels.
