Wiesenfest in the Upper Franconian Franconian Forest foothills

The Konradsreuth Wiesenfest is the annual Volksfest (popular festival) of the Upper Franconian municipality of Konradsreuth in the Hof district. It takes place every year in June in the Bürgerpark behind the town hall – a central green area with old trees, a festival meadow, and space for a festival tent. Konradsreuth is located in the transition zone from the Franconian Forest foothills to the Fichtelgebirge mountains, on the A93 motorway between Hof and Marktredwitz – a typical Upper Franconian market town with just over 3,500 inhabitants.

Hofer Land Festwirte and Kulmbacher Beer

Since being taken over by the Hofer Land Festwirte in close cooperation with the municipality of Konradsreuth, the festival has been professionally staged as a Volksfest format. The Kulmbacher Brewery – the largest and oldest brewery in Upper Franconia – is responsible for serving beer, so that "the best from Kulmbach" is served from the tap in the festival tent. Light lagers, wheat beers, and festival beer specialties characterize the selection.

Program structure over the festival weekend

The Wiesenfest typically lasts four days: Thursday or Friday marks the start of the festival with the ceremonial tapping of the first keg, followed by live bands daily from 7 p.m. in the festival tent. Most recently, bands such as the Frankenräuber (Franconian rock classics) performed. Saturday is the big festival Saturday, Sunday is the festival day with a parade, morning pint (Frühschoppen), and family afternoon. The three-day festival period in 2026 (June 12-14) follows a slightly modified, more compact version of the format.

Amusement rides for families

Around the festival tent, amusement ride operators set up carousels, smaller rides, shooting galleries, gingerbread heart stalls, and candy stalls. This makes the Wiesenfest a typical family outing – throughout the festival week, parents and children, as well as seniors, club evenings, and hiking groups from the region come together.

Konradsreuth — Transport and club hub in the Hofer Land

The municipality of Konradsreuth is home to several clubs and is a typical administrative center in the Hofer Land region. The connection via the A93 (Hof–Marktredwitz–Regensburg–Passau) makes travel easy. Also well-known in the region is the annual SummerSounds Open-Air Festival, which is also held in Konradsreuth – thus establishing the town as a small but active cultural festival location.
