The workshops are spread across parallel studios — participants choose freely according to their interests.

A Different Berlin Festival
In a city known for its clubs, film festivals, and open-air concerts, a different format has been established in recent years: the Stretch Festival, a queer workshop weekend organized by the Berlin association we.are.village e.V. Three times a year — in spring, summer, and autumn — GBTQ men* and individuals who identify as between male and non-binary come together at Village.Berlin on Kurfürstenstraße in Schöneberg.
What Makes Stretch Special
Unlike most queer Berlin events, Stretch takes place during the day, not at night. Instead of dance floors and DJ sets: studios, mats, cushions, candles. A typical festival day consists of three to five workshop slots offered in parallel — participants choose freely. The range of topics is broad:
- Bodywork: Yoga, dance, breathing techniques, somatic experiencing
- Mindfulness and Meditation: Vipassana, mindfulness, self-experience
- Sexuality and Intimacy: Workshops on desire, consent, tantra, queer sexuality
- Psychology and Relationships: Masculinity, identity, relationship dynamics
- Spirituality and Ritual: Queer rituals, shamanism, contemplative practice
- Art and Performance: Voice, movement, improvisation
- Social Engagement: Reflection rounds, discussions, activism
Festival Rhythm 2026
The three Stretch editions in 2026 are:
- Spring — Tanzfabrik Xberg, April 3–5, 2026 (fully booked)
- Summer — Village.Berlin, July 3–5, 2026
- Autumn “Imagine” — Village.Berlin, October 30 – November 1, 2026
An Intimate Scale
With a maximum of 120 participants per day, the festival deliberately remains small — a conscious decision to foster trust, depth, and quality of interaction. The event language is English, making Stretch a strongly international meeting point for the queer spirituality and bodywork scenes.
Schöneberg as a Queer Hub
Village.Berlin is located on Kurfürstenstraße in Schöneberg — historically one of Berlin's queer centers since the 1920s, now part of the LSBTI* infrastructure of the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district. The connection between location and content is no coincidence: Stretch sees itself as a contribution to a Berlin queer culture that exists beyond the clubs, during the day as well.
