Three Days of Waldheim Joy of Life

The Stadtfest Waldheim is the most important urban event of the summer. Every year at the end of July/beginning of August, the town administration invites you to a weekend that transforms the Werder and Oberwerder areas on the banks of the Zschopau into a large festival mile. The festival is considered a meeting point for the entire town and an occasion for former residents to return.

Program for All Generations

Live music on the stage, regional specialties at the food stalls, a colorful children's program with entertainment and hands-on activities form the core offering. The town focuses on a program that enables "good conversations and joyful togetherness" – a deliberately low-threshold character that distinguishes the festival from purely commercially oriented town festivals.

Werder and Oberwerder as Festival Grounds

The historic areas of Werder and Oberwerder directly on the river offer an attractive festival site. The stage is set up centrally, with food stalls and booths distributed across the squares. The pedestrian connection to Waldheim's old town makes the festival easily accessible.

In the Mittelsachsen District, State of Saxony

Waldheim is located in the Mittelsachsen district (AGS 14522), state of Saxony, between Chemnitz and Döbeln on the middle reaches of the Zschopau. The small town with around 8,000 inhabitants has a eventful history – in the 19th century, it was the site of one of Saxony's largest penal institutions, and today it is a quiet small town in the Zschopau Valley.
