Every year at the end of August, the Stadtfest Schweinfurt transforms the entire city centre of the Lower Franconian city into a large festival mile. For two days, tens of thousands of visitors experience music, entertainment, shows, culinary delights, children's programmes, and shops open for business. Under the motto »Festival of Squares – Festival of Family«, several stages will entertain the city's squares: Regional and national bands will create a great atmosphere on the Stadtwerke stage at the Marktplatz and the AlternaStage at the Skatepark, while the whole family is the focus during the day.

The Stadtfest Schweinfurt 2026 will take place on Friday, August 28th, and Saturday, August 29th, 2026 – it is already the 15th edition. On both days, the programme runs from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM; the official opening of the two-day festival will be on Friday around 7:00 PM. The entire city centre will be transformed into a festival mile with several stages.

The Stadtfest Schweinfurt 2026 will be celebrated on August 28th and 29th, 2026. During the day, the focus at the Marktplatz is on enjoyment and family entertainment; in the evening, the square becomes a large open-air party zone. On the Stadtwerke stage at the Marktplatz, the energetic GoGorillas and Xtreme will heat things up. The AlternaStage at the Skatepark will be designed by the team from Stattbahnhof.

The culinary offerings range from popular classics to new, hearty and sweet dishes. The festival is complemented by children's activities, shopping, and information stands. The detailed programme schedule will be published on the official website.

Getting There

Schweinfurt is located in Lower Franconia on the A70 and A71 motorways. Arrive by train at Schweinfurt main station, from where it is a short walk to the city centre. During the Stadtfest, parts of the city centre are closed to traffic; using the train and public transport is recommended.

Admission

Admission to the Stadtfest is free. The festival mile extends across the entire city centre with several stages and squares.

The Stadtfest Schweinfurt is one of the largest festivals in the Lower Franconian industrial and cultural city of Schweinfurt in the Free State of Bavaria. Over a weekend at the end of August, the entire city centre becomes a festival zone: music, entertainment, shows, culinary delights, encounters, children's activities, information, and shopping characterise the programme »Festival of Squares – Festival of Family«.

Several Stages and Squares

The heart of the festival is the Stadtwerke stage at the historic Marktplatz: During the day, the focus is on enjoyment and family entertainment; in the evening, the square transforms into a large open-air party zone. The AlternaStage at the Skatepark, organised by the experienced team from Stattbahnhof, offers an alternative programme. In addition, there are culinary stalls with classics and new dishes, a beer garden, and activity areas for children.

Tangible City Marketing

The Stadtfest sees itself as living city marketing and invites not only the residents of Schweinfurt but also former citizens and guests from all over the Lower Franconia region. The festival is organised by Joachim Volz / 2-Contact on behalf of the City of Schweinfurt, supported by sponsors such as Stadtwerke Schweinfurt, SKF, ZF, Schaeffler, and Roth Bier.

Family Festival with Tradition

Since the 2010s, the Stadtfest has been a firm fixture on the Schweinfurt events calendar. 2026 will see the 15th edition – proof of the festival's firm establishment in the life of the city.
