A City Becomes a Stage
Once a year, the Nacht der Kultur transforms Schweinfurt's city center into a continuous cultural mile. It is organized by KulturPackt Schweinfurt e. V. with funding from the City of Schweinfurt and support from the district of Lower Franconia. For about 30 years, it has been one of the fixed highlights of autumn in the district capital of Lower Franconia (Bavaria).
The Wristband Principle
The concept is very simple and attractive for visitors: You buy an admission wristband once and can watch everything you want all evening long – without any further individual tickets. The range extends from music of various styles to theater, dance, poetry slam, short films, and readings to cabaret, exhibitions, and art events.
Venues in the Heart of the Action
The diversity of locations is characteristic: performances take place "from the public library to Bar 9 Pointer, from the museum to the carpet shop" – shops, vacant spaces, and pubs become stages. This mix of established cultural institutions and unusual venues makes the special appeal of wandering through Schweinfurt's city center.
Over 50 Program Items in One Evening
In the 2025 edition, over 50 program items by almost 40 artists were planned at more than a dozen performance venues. The Taiko drumming group Wadaiko Todoroki kicked things off; the program included, among others, the cabaret artist Ralf Winkelbeiner, the slam poet Michael Jakob, the dance formation TANZraum, and the Swiss band HATHORS.
