Every year on the first weekend of July, the Stadtfest Kempten transforms the city center of the Allgäu metropolis into a large festival mile. Several stages on Rathausplatz, Residenzplatz, St.-Mang-Platz, and Sigmund-Ullmann-Platz feature live music ranging from pop and rock to reggae, funk, and electro. During the day, local clubs, dance groups, and athletes present themselves in the pedestrian zone, with hands-on activities for families, children, and teenagers. In 2025, the festival welcomed over 46,000 guests – a visitor record for one of the largest civic festivals in the Oberallgäu region.

Kempten (Allgäu) city center, around Rathausplatz and Residenzplatz, 87435 Kempten. By train to Kempten Hauptbahnhof, from there a few minutes' walk to the old town. By car via the A7 (exit Kempten); parking garages in the city center.
