Largest summer festival mile in the Alpine City — one day of Stadtfest in the center
The Stadtfest Bad Reichenhall is one of the largest summer festivals in the Berchtesgadener Land region. The venues are the Rathausplatz and the pedestrian zone of the Alpine City; the festival is organized by Bad Reichenhall Tourismus & Stadtmarketing GmbH. Opening in the morning by the Stadtkapelle Bad Reichenhall and the Mayor with a traditional beer tapping ceremony on the main stage.
Bands and DJs for every taste perform on the Rathausplatz and in the pedestrian zone – brass music, Schlager, pop, and dance music. At the Angerl, DJ music provides dancing, along with traditional customs and wood carving demonstrations; at the Unteren Lindenplatz, ballet, live acts, and a colorful market are on the program.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Fire Department, Police, Bundeswehr, Bavarian Red Cross, Mountain Rescue, and Malteser present their vehicles, hands-on activities, demonstrations, and prize wheels. For children, there's face painting, driving simulators, bungee trampolines, carousels, and swings.
Regional specialties from the Berchtesgadener Land – from Reichenhaller sausages to Bavarian snacks and desserts – define the culinary offerings. The city's restaurateurs serve their beers and summer drinks throughout the pedestrian zone.
Bad Reichenhall is the only *Alpine City* in Germany and is located in the Berchtesgadener Land district in Bavaria, nestled between the Saalach river and the Untersberg mountain, close to the Austrian border. The Stadtfest combines Alpine City tradition with summer joy – ideal for a day trip from Salzburg, Munich, or Berchtesgaden.
On Saturday, July 4, 2026, Bad Reichenhall Tourismus & Stadtmarketing GmbH and the city will transform the center of the Alpine City into a festival mile. Bands and DJs will perform on the Rathausplatz and in the pedestrian zone, alongside regional specialties, fairground attractions, and a children's program.
Highlights include the opening with the Stadtkapelle and the beer tapping ceremony by the Mayor, as well as the Emergency Services Day with demonstrations and hands-on activities from the rescue organizations.
