In just a few years, the Festival Music & Wine in the Ahr Valley has established itself as a permanent summer institution in the Mittelahr Valley. The specially erected Wine Culture Stage in Dernau combines a professional concert format with the relaxed atmosphere of a wine evening. Between sets, there's time to linger at the stands of the Dernau and Mittelahr vintners, sample regional dishes, and gaze out over the vineyards.

A Program Between Cologne and the World

The festival's lineup deliberately plays with its proximity to the Rhineland and its musical culture. Bands from Cologne like Kasalla or the brass ensemble Köbes Underground shape the weekend, complemented by international artists from the funk, jazz, and singer-songwriter genres. The compact stage allows for an intense concert experience that would be difficult to achieve in larger open-air venues.

Wine Culture Village Dernau

Dernau sees itself as a WineCultureVillage and has enriched this concept over the years with events like Music & Wine, the Vintners' Festival, and the St. Martin's Market. The Wine Culture Stage is centrally located in the village and is a short walk from Dernau train station. A visit to the festival is well worth combining with a hike on the Red Wine Hiking Trail or a wine tasting at one of the local family wineries.
