Springflut Festival Hörup

International Equestrian Sport in the Schleswig-Flensburg Province

Hörup is a small municipality in the district of Schleswig-Flensburg, located in the middle of the Schleswig-Holstein geest. With the Springflut Festival, this location has established an international-level equestrian event since 2020, attracting thousands of spectators, riders, and horse lovers annually. The 7th edition from July 8th to 12th, 2026, is part of the CSN tournament calendar and is considered one of the season's highlights in the North.

Sporting Level up to S***

The focus of the competition is on show jumping events up to the highest difficulty level, S***:

• Grand Prix of VR Bank Nord eG — Grand Prix S*** at 1.50 m with a jump-off on Sunday, the sporting highlight of the week
• Future Championship for young horses — qualification and promotion of young talent
• Further S* and S** competitions continuously from Wednesday to Sunday
• Cross-country competitions (Class A and L) as qualification for the Bundeschampionate in Warendorf
• Foal Championship of the Schleswig-Flensburg district

More Than Sport — Show, Auction, and Casino Night

A supporting programme is grouped around the main events, setting the festival apart from a pure tournament:

• Holsteiner Highlight Sales — Foal auction on the festival grounds
• Balticfinance Youth Team Masters — U-18 team competition (premiere in 2025, continuation in 2026)
• James Farm Open — the riding stables open their doors and showcase modern agriculture
• NEW 2026: Springflut Casino Royal Night on Thursday evening with table games and exclusive prizes

Organised by the State Equestrian Federation

The festival is organised by the State Commission for Equestrian Performance Tests Schleswig-Holstein — the official federation for equestrian sports in the state. This provides the festival with institutional backing that ensures its sporting quality. The cross-country course runs across James Farm and the festival grounds before ending in the show jumping stadium.
