The Sportplatzkerwa Heinersreuth is the annual summer Kerwa (Kirchweih - traditional festival) of the municipality of Heinersreuth on the outskirts of Bayreuth. For one July weekend, the local sports field transforms into a festival ground: a marquee, catering by local clubs, music, and the familiar Upper Franconian Kirchweih flair – supported by voluntary helpers from the Heinersreuth village community. Heinersreuth is located in the district of Bayreuth and has around 5,100 inhabitants.

Those planning a day trip to the Sportplatzkerwa can easily combine it with a visit to nearby Bayreuth: the Festspielhaus, the Margravial Opera House (UNESCO World Heritage), the Eremitage palace gardens.
