Open-air festival at Druckzentrum Südwest — three big live evenings
Sommersound VS is a three-day open-air festival in Villingen-Schwenningen, the largest town in the Schwarzwald-Baar district. The venue is Druckzentrum Südwest — an unusual location that has become a fixture in the concert scene of southern Baden-Württemberg in recent years. In 2026, three very different acts will grace the stage: Wincent Weiss, Uriah Heep, and Howard Carpendale. Each evening is a distinct concert night with its own target audience.
The Friday opener is Wincent Weiss as part of his “Sommer-Tour 2026”. The North German pop songwriter, known for hits like “Frische Luft”, “Musik sein”, and “Pläne”, now fills large open-air venues across Germany. His concept: German pop lyrics with catchy hooks, accompanied by a full live band — accessible to a broad audience from teenagers to young mothers.
Saturday belongs to Uriah Heep — one of the most influential British hard rock bands of the early 1970s, bringing their “Live 26” tour to Villingen-Schwenningen in 2026. Known for hits like “Lady in Black”, “July Morning”, and “Easy Livin'”, Uriah Heep has been touring worldwide for over five decades — a true classic rock legend that still captivates their loyal fanbase.
The finale on Sunday features Howard Carpendale, the South African-German Schlager star, with his tour “Ein Sommer mit Euch”. Carpendale, a staple of the German Schlager scene since the 1970s, is among Germany's best-selling artists. His hits — from “Hello again” to “Tür an Tür mit Alice” — are etched in the collective memory of the Baby Boomer generation.
From July 31st to August 2nd, 2026, Druckzentrum Südwest will transform into an open-air concert arena. Three evenings, three very different acts, three generations of audience.
Tickets are sold separately for each evening — you can attend one day, two days, or all three. Admission in the late afternoon, stage show in the evening.
