A Regional Trade Fair with Supra-Regional Appeal

For decades, the Südwest-Messe Villingen-Schwenningen has been the most important consumer fair in Southern Württemberg and the northern Black Forest. On the large exhibition grounds in the Schwenningen district, in the Schwarzwald-Baar district, around 500 exhibitors and 70,000 visitors meet every early summer for a broad-based showcase of crafts, trade, industry, and services. It is a must-attend event for homeowners, DIY enthusiasts, families, and anyone who wants to start their summer with inspiration for home, garden, travel, or health.

2026 Program — from May 30 to June 7

The 2026 edition runs for nine days from Saturday, May 30 to Sunday, June 7, 2026. Opening hours daily 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thematic focuses for 2026: energy-efficient building and living, health and wellness, culinary, and household. In addition, there are classic consumer fair areas: automotive, garden, tourism, fashion, jewelry. 16 halls and an outdoor area for large exhibits (motorhomes, garden technology, construction machinery) are available to exhibitors.

Special Exhibitions, Tastings, and Stage Program

The Südwest-Messe thrives on its special exhibitions: thematic displays on changing focal points (renewable energy, smart home, organic gastronomy, outdoor experience). The action hall hosts live demonstrations, tastings of regional specialties from Baden and Swabia, stage shows with music and fashion, and consultation hours. Catering is provided by regional businesses — dining tents with Black Forest, Swabian, and international cuisine, plus cafés, ice cream parlors, and street food stalls.

Villingen-Schwenningen as a Location

The city of Villingen-Schwenningen combines two historically independent cities — Villingen with its baroque old town and Schwenningen as an industrial city — and is the economic center of the Schwarzwald-Baar district. The exhibition grounds are located in the Schwenningen district, easily accessible from the A81 motorway and the train station, and with its large multi-purpose hall and several exhibition buildings, it is one of the largest event complexes in Southern Württemberg. The city itself becomes a venue during the trade fair: hotels are fully booked, restaurants are crowded, and the city program adapts to the trade fair week.
