Two-day open-air summer festival in the courtyard of Becksteiner WineWorld with exquisite wines and live music
Becksteiner Winzer eG is one of the oldest and largest wine-growing cooperatives in Tauberfranken — founded in 1894, today with around 350 members who together manage over 250 hectares of vineyards. The cooperative is based in Beckstein, a district of Lauda-Königshofen, and operates a modern vinotheque and event center with the Becksteiner WineWorld. Every summer, the cooperative opens its courtyard for the Sommernachtsfest — a two-day open-air celebration that is one of the most charming wine festivals in the Liebliches Taubertal region.
The 2026 Sommernachtsfest takes place on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11. Both evenings start in the late afternoon (typically 5–6 PM) and end around midnight. The two bands alternate on stage:
The music creates a relaxed summer atmosphere — not stadium-sized, but courtyard ambiance with seating under fairy lights between vines and slate walls.
The focus of the festival is on Becksteiner wines. You can taste all the main grape varieties of the cooperative:
Wine sales at fair prices per glass or bottle, no „festival surcharge". Summer specialty: Bocksbeutel-Schorle with local mineral water.
The Becksteiner Winzer cook themselves at the festival: Maultaschen, bratwurst from a charcoal grill, Schweinekraut-Tasche (a Franconian specialty), Käsespätzle, salad plates, pretzels, Franconian wine cake, strawberry cups with cream. Vegan and vegetarian options available. Fair cooperative prices — tips are a bonus.
Lauda-Königshofen is a medium-sized town in the Main-Tauber district (AGS 08128) in the Franconian northeast of Baden-Württemberg. Beckstein is a district about 4 km from the town center, located in a typical side valley of the Tauber river. The Liebliches Taubertal region extends from Würzburg via Bad Mergentheim to Wertheim and is home to Franconian viticulture on shell limestone soils — one of the oldest and best wine-growing regions in Germany. The Sommernachtsfest in Beckstein is part of a dense festival calendar that offers wine festivals in Tauberfranken throughout the summer.
The 2026 edition continues the proven format: two evenings, two bands, regional wines and food from the cooperative's kitchen. The courtyard of Becksteiner WineWorld typically offers around 500–700 seats.
