Music, dance and garden by the Müggelsee – the annual neighbourhood festival of KIEZKLUB Rahnsdorf, Saturday, June 13, 2026, 2–6 PM
Rahnsdorf is one of Berlin's eastern districts, located on the Großer Müggelsee, in the Treptow-Köpenick borough. Long characterized as a rural summer getaway for Berliners, the district has retained its charm of old fishermen's houses, forests, and water to this day. In the midst of it all stands the KIEZKLUB Rahnsdorf on Fürstenwalder Allee – a neighbourhood centre supported by the district office for seniors, families, and residents, with its own garden, event rooms, and workshops.
Once a year, traditionally in June, the club hosts its summer festival in its own garden. What initially sounds like a cozy seniors' event is actually an open neighbourhood festival: Residents from Rahnsdorf, Wilhelmshagen, Hessenwinkel, and all of Köpenick come by for the afternoon. The club's own groups perform – oriental dance, folk dance, line dance – and Berlin-based live musicians play on a small stage.
In 2026, three musical highlights are confirmed: Robert Mietzner – singer-songwriter with Berlin classics. Dirk Jüttner – rock'n'roll artist with a dancefloor-filling programme. And the duo Alexis Sorbas with Greek music, a staple at summer festivals in Köpenick. In addition, there will be performances by the club's own dance groups.
Co-host of the summer festival is the UNIONHILFSWERK homeless shelter in Rahnsdorf, located nearby. The festival is explicitly designed as a meeting place – residents of the shelter, Rahnsdorf seniors, families from the neighbourhood, and day-trippers from the Müggelsee mingle while dancing, at the cake buffet, and at the sales stands. The solidarity aspect makes the festival more than just an afternoon in the garden.
The 2026 edition follows the previous year's format. The afternoon's focus is the live music slot with three confirmed acts and performances by the club's own dance groups. Sales stands featuring ceramics, patchwork items, and homegrown garden plants complement the program. Coffee, cake, and drinks will be served by donation or at cost price. The summer festival is open to all residents from Rahnsdorf and the surrounding area, as well as day-trippers to the Müggelsee.
Free admission. Cake, coffee, and drinks by donation. Sales stands directly at the stand at cost price or affordable direct sales prices.
