Overview

The 2025 Sommerfest of KIEZKLUB Rahnsdorf took place on June 28, 2025, in the garden at Fürstenwalder Allee. Live music and performances by the club's own dance groups accompanied the afternoon, sales stands, coffee, cake, and a meeting between regular club guests, residents, and inhabitants of the nearby UNIONHILFSWERK homeless shelter provided the typical mix of a neighbourhood festival and a solidarity format. Free admission.

The 2025 edition followed the established format. The club's own groups (oriental dance, folk dance, line dance) performed, alongside Berlin musicians with singer-songwriter and dance music programs. Sales stands with ceramics and plants from the garden filled the afternoon, with coffee and cake available throughout the event.

The format with UNIONHILFSWERK as co-host is part of the concept: an open neighbourhood festival that explicitly includes residents of the homeless shelter. In 2025, this worked as in previous years, with the club remaining one of the most accessible meeting places in East Berlin.
