The Musikverein Frankonia Bütthard

The Musikverein Frankonia Bütthard is the central cultural carrier of the municipality of Bütthard in the Würzburg district. With active and passive members of all generations, a youth band, and a dense event calendar, the club shapes the musical and social life of the Lower Franconian community. The official club calendar for 2026 alone plans 11 public events – from a themed party in January and the spring concert in May to a Bohemian evening in November.

The Summer Festival as a Social Highlight

The three-day summer festival at the Musikheim at the beginning of July is the most important public date in the club's year. The venue is the club's own Musikheim – a modern hall building with a spacious outdoor area, built specifically for club activities. In summer weather, the festival takes place mainly outdoors – with long beer tables, a stage, and a bar.

Program: Cocktail Evening, Brass Music, Frühschoppen

The three days each have their own character. The kick-off on Friday is usually a cocktail evening – relaxed, young, with musical accompaniment by its own musicians or invited guests. Saturday is dedicated entirely to brass music – performances by Frankonia Bütthard, guest appearances by friendly bands from the Würzburg district, and a joint dance evening. Sunday begins with a Frühschoppen with brass music, followed by family activities in the afternoon and a quieter conclusion in the late evening.

Catering in the Style of Lower Franconian Club Culture

Catering is provided by club members and their families. The menu features classics: Bratwurst from an open grill, Schäuferla with side dishes, Steckerlfisch (fish grilled on a stick), Franconian Bratwurst, Schäufele (in Lower Franconian spelling), accompanied by beer on tap from a regional brewery, Franconian wine from the Würzburg Stein-Gürtel vineyards, and coffee and homemade cakes by the club's women on Sunday.

Bütthard and the Würzburg District

Bütthard is a small municipality in the Würzburg district, located about 20 km southwest of Würzburg in the Maindreieck region. With about 1,000 inhabitants, it is one of the smaller municipalities in the district. The club life, with the Musikverein Frankonia as the main organizer, provides the cultural substance of the place. The Sommerfest am Musikheim is one of the events where the entire village community comes together – even former residents of Bütthard return from the surrounding area or the Würzburg region specifically for the festival.
