Traditional village festival at the Dreschschopf Seefelden with Markgräfler wine, winemakers' cooperative, and club catering
The Dreschschopf in Seefelden is the historic site where the village farmers threshed their grain — a tradition lost with the advent of modern agricultural technology, but whose building was preserved as a festival ground. Today, the Dreschschopf is the central meeting point for the Seefelden village community and the natural festival area for the Seefelder Dorfhock. In 2026, the festival runs from Saturday, August 8th to Monday, August 10th.
The Seefelder Dorfhock is a classic club-run village festival — supported by the local Seefelden clubs (sports club, heritage society, music club, traditional costume society). At the catering stands at the Dreschschopf, grilled chicken, Swabian-Baden sausages, steaks, 'Vesperteller' with regional cheese and ham, fries, and salads are served. The catering is voluntary — all proceeds go back into club activities and support youth and sports programs.
A special feature is the proximity to the Seefelden winemakers' cooperative. On festival days, the cooperative opens its loading station and offers Markgräfler wines for tasting — Müller-Thurgau (also called 'Markgräfler' because of a particularly fresh, mineral variant found here), Gutedel (the distinctive Baden variety), Spätburgunder, Weißburgunder, and sparkling wine. An ideal opportunity to get to know a cross-section of the Markgräfler wine landscape directly at the source.
The Seefelder Dorfhock is traditionally much more compact than large festivals — which is its charm:
Buggingen is a municipality in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district, located in the Markgräflerland — the southern foothills strip between the southern Black Forest and the Rhine. The region is Germany's warmest wine-growing area and is accordingly shaped by its culinary offerings. Seefelden is one of the districts of the municipality of Buggingen, alongside Buggingen itself, Betberg, and Seefelden. By car, you can reach the Dreschschopf in 30 minutes from Freiburg, Müllheim, or Bad Krozingen.
The Seefelden winemakers' cooperative opens its loading station for wine tastings concurrently.
By car via the A 5 exit Bad Krozingen or Heitersheim. By train to Müllheim or Heitersheim, then bus 105 or taxi to Buggingen-Seefelden. Parking available at the Dreschschopf and in the village.
Free. Food and Markgräfler wines à la carte at club prices. Winemakers' cooperative with its own sales area.
Saturday 08.08. from afternoon until late evening, Sunday 09.08. from morning (Frühschoppen) until evening, Monday 10.08. during the day until evening.
