One City, Nine Pubs, Twelve Bands

The Keiler Honky Tonk® Festival in Lohr am Main follows a brilliant concept, now proven multiple times in Franconia: Instead of one large festival stage, several existing pubs and venues simultaneously become concert stages — and the audience moves between them. A single admission ticket grants access to all participating locations. If you've had enough of rock, switch to salsa. If you're looking for a quiet singer-songwriter evening, you'll find it in the smallest pub. An ideal festival format for Lower Franconian medium-sized towns with a vibrant gastronomy scene.

The 21st Year in Lohr

Lohr am Main has been hosting the festival for over 20 years. In 2026, the 21st edition will take place on Saturday, April 18. Twelve bands will play at nine locations in Lohr's city center — from the main street to the side alleys around the Snow White House, the famous landmark of the fairy tale town. The main central sponsor is the Lohr brewery Keiler Bier; other supporters include Raiffeisenbank Main-Spessart, Die Energie, and Getränke Ott.

Music for Every Taste

The Lohr Honky Tonk emphasizes programmatic diversity. Regularly featured acts include: Babao Boogie with singer Svea Schwitalla, who reinterprets rock classics by Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and Black Sabbath; the Monkeyman Band, an experienced Honky Tonk band that adapts its performance to the mood of the moment; Livin' 4 the Moment in the Alte Turnhalle; Overdrive; and others. The range spans from 70s/80s classics and current charts to salsa and Latin.

Lohr — Fairy Tale Town in the Spessart

Lohr am Main is a medium-sized town in Lower Franconia in the Main-Spessart district, idyllically situated on the Main River and at the edge of the Spessart Nature Park. Lohr is primarily known as the Snow White Town: One theory places the Brothers Grimm heroine in this region — Lohr's glass mirrors and the nearby Seven Mountains fit the fairy tale image. This tourist identity is also present during the festival: several bars in the old town reference the fairy tale world.

The Honky Tonk Principle

The festival is part of the nationwide Honky Tonk® series, which organizes similar pub festivals in over 40 German cities. The success concept: central organization, local implementation with bands and venues on site. Tickets are available affordably in advance (Early Bird from 14 Euros), and at the box office for the full price of 20 Euros. An extremely entertaining way to explore a medium-sized town musically in a single night.
