Dance Weekend in the State Capital

The Tanzfestival MV takes place at Tanzstudio Schlebusch on Geschwister-Scholl-Straße in Schwerin, the state capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. For three days, the studio transforms into a meeting point for everyone who wants to expand their dance skills or simply dance for a weekend.

Workshops with Professionals

The heart of the festival is around thirteen dance workshops. In one-hour sessions, experienced dance instructors teach both basics for beginners and advanced techniques. The spectrum ranges from classic dances like Discofox, Cha-Cha-Cha, Salsa, and Rumba to popular styles like Balboa, Bachata, and Latin Solo. Among the trainers are well-known names such as Evgeny Vinokurov, known from the TV show »Let's Dance«, René Zambrana from Salsa Hamburg, Swing Connection from Rostock, and Sven Steen, state squad trainer for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Welcome Party and Grand Dance Night

The festival includes two evening events. The Welcome Party on Friday evening provides a relaxed start to the weekend. The highlight is the spectacular Dance Night on Saturday evening: on multiple floors, a Ballroom Night, a Cuban-Latin American floor, a Discofox-Schlager floor, and a Swing Party run simultaneously – all in one evening.

Latin, Swing, and Ballroom

The festival combines Latin American dances, Swing, Salsa, and competition dances into a versatile program. This appeals to a broad dance scene: couples and singles, hobby dancers, and ambitious competition dancers will find suitable offers here.
