The Great Summer Festival of the North

The Seebadfest Karlshagen is the absolute highlight of the Karlshagen event summer — a three-day Volksfest (public festival) that celebrates the spirit of the Baltic Sea resort. In midsummer, the beach forecourt and adjacent promenade transform into a vibrant festival mile, attracting thousands of day-trippers from the entire region and beyond.

Three Festival Days

The programme is spread over three days and targets different audience groups:

• Friday — Opening evening with live music, culinary mile, and fairground rides starting up. A bandstand stage provides musical entertainment until late in the evening.
• Saturday — Highlight day with the big beach party. The main act for 2026 is the international 90s cult band Magic Affair, followed by spectacular beach fireworks at 10:30 PM.
• Sunday — Family Fun Sunday with games, entertainment programmes, and activities specifically for children and teenagers.

Magic Affair on Saturday Evening

The German dance formation Magic Affair was one of the biggest dance acts of the Eurodance boom in the mid-1990s with hits like »Omen III« and »Give Me All Your Love«. More than 25 years after their chart successes, they still perform live regularly and are a magnet, especially at festivals and open-air events. The Karlshagen performance promises a nostalgic party atmosphere on the Baltic Sea beach.

Beach Fireworks as a Highlight

The Saturday evening party culminates at 10:30 PM with spectacular beach fireworks. Pyrotechnicians will launch a lengthy choreography of aerial fireworks, ground effects, and musical accompaniment directly from the beach. Thousands of eyes will gaze over the Baltic Sea from the beach forecourt — a moment of collective festival culture.

Fairground Rides, Food Trucks, and Crafts

Throughout the weekend, a colourful festival mile creates a lively atmosphere: Ferris wheel, children's carousels, and smaller rides complement the stage programme. Food trucks offer regional snack culture (Bratwurst, fresh Baltic Sea fish, fries, crêpes), and craftspeople present their work at market stalls. The mix of sound, light, scents, and beach scenery makes the Seebadfest a sensory experience.

The organiser is the municipality of Ostseebad Karlshagen. The festival is part of the strategy to make the quiet, family-friendly Baltic Sea resort visible as an event location once a year — a deliberate addition to classic beach and wellness tourism.
