The SC Schliersee Forest Festival is one of the traditional forest and summer festivals in the Tegernsee-Schliersee region in the Miesbach district, Upper Bavaria, Bavaria. The venue is the Waldfestplatz on Seestraße in Schliersee, nestled among shady trees near the lake.
Tradition around the Assumption of Mary
The festival weekend takes place annually around August 15th, the Assumption of Mary. It traditionally opens with a parade from Schliersee train station to the festival grounds – an atmospheric start celebrating traditional costume and customs.
Festival Tent and Delicacies
Guests can expect a spacious, heated festival tent with a cozy beer garden. In addition to beer and non-alcoholic drinks, crispy roast chicken, hearty pork roasts, sausages, and popular grilled specialties, as well as cheese, radishes, and pretzels are served. Bavarian brass music, traditional costume, and dancing shape the atmosphere.

The festival is organized by the Skiclub Schliersee e.V. The Forest Festival is an important event in the club's life and the region's event calendar, attracting locals and visitors from the entire Schliersee and Tegernsee valleys.
Waldfest Schliersee — edition 2026
From August 14 to 17, 2026, the Skiclub Schliersee will celebrate its traditional Forest Festival at the Waldfestplatz on Seestraße, around the Assumption of Mary.
The festival opens with the traditional parade from Schliersee train station. The heated festival tent with a beer garden will offer roast chicken, pork roast, sausages, grilled specialties, as well as cheese, radishes, and pretzels, accompanied by Bavarian brass music, traditional costume, and dancing.
