About TuFa Trier 2026
The Tuchfabrik Trier – known locally by its abbreviation TuFa – has been one of the most important socio-cultural centres in Rhineland-Palatinate since 1986. With around 100,000 visitors per year, it is one of the most frequented cultural venues in the region. In 2026, TuFa celebrates its 40th anniversary – an occasion for a particularly packed annual programme.
The spectrum ranges from concerts (pop, rock, folk, jazz, world music) to comedy and cabaret, theatre performances by independent companies, visual art exhibitions, and film series, as well as readings, workshops, and participatory formats. The regular "PARTYICIPATION" series combines party-like events with accessible participatory concepts and exemplifies the socio-cultural mission of the venue: culture as a shared space for experience, aiming to appeal to all generations, backgrounds, and interests.
In 2026, TuFa will also be one of the main venues for the Rheinland-Pfalz Triennale (April and May), the state-wide interdisciplinary festival format. In addition, numerous festivals will take place, either partially or entirely at TuFa: the "Lange Nacht der Kunst" (Long Night of Art) in December, MS benefit concerts, cabaret series, and more.
TuFa is housed in a former cloth factory at Wechselstraße 4-6 in Trier's city centre. It comprises a large hall with a stage, several studios, exhibition spaces, rehearsal areas, and a restaurant. Its central location in the old town makes it a natural meeting point for Trier's cultural community.

The anniversary year 2026 will be celebrated with special programme highlights. In spring, TuFa will be a central venue for the Rheinland-Pfalz Triennale, which brings together dance, theatre, music, and visual arts in an interdisciplinary format.
