Winemakers, live music, silent disco, and culinary delights at Rathausplatz
Northern Germany isn't considered a classic wine region – but that's precisely what gives the Delmenhorst Wine Festival its special appeal. Selected winemakers bring their wines to the north and present them to an appreciative audience. From smooth white wines to robust red wines, rosés, and sparkling wines, everything is represented.
The DWFG (Delmenhorst Economic Development Corporation) transforms Rathausplatz and the adjacent Markthalle with wine barrels, standing tables, small pavilions, and warm lighting into a summery wine landscape. The atmosphere is relaxed, Mediterranean-inspired, and inviting.
Every good wine deserves the right food. At the festival grounds, you'll find stone-baked Flammkuchen, shrimp rolls with North Sea shrimp, cheese platters from regional providers, bratwurst, crêpes, and other specialties. Sweet treats like macarons and chocolate specialties are also part of the selection.
Over the two festival days, various live bands and solo artists will perform – mostly acoustic sets that complement the wine. A silent disco additionally offers the opportunity to dance to your own beats with headphones, without disturbing the quiet atmosphere of the wine festival.
The DWFG curates the wine festival with the aim of combining enjoyment and revitalizing the city center. With this format, they succeed in transforming the Delmenhorst city center into an attractive meeting point for gourmets in the late summer.
The 2026 edition continues the popular wine festival format. The DWFG emphasizes a balanced selection of wines and a relaxed atmosphere that matches the Mediterranean-light character of a wine festival.
Those looking for an enjoyable August weekend in the region between Bremen and Oldenburg will find the Delmenhorst Wine Festival an ideal occasion.
