32 Years of City Festival in the Saalestadt

For over three decades, the Rudolstadt Old Town Festival has been the musical early summer highlight of the city in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district. Against the backdrop of historic Renaissance buildings and Heidecksburg Castle, the free city festival offers a packed program of concerts, dancing, hands-on activities, and culinary delights.

Double Anniversary Background 2026

The 32nd edition in 2026 coincides with Rudolstadt's 1250th city anniversary and the 700th anniversary of its city rights. This gives the festival special significance and creates a festive atmosphere, supported by an expanded program structure and additional highlights.

Club Mile in Marktstraße

A novelty in 2026: On Saturday, June 6th, the city administration is organizing a club mile in Marktstraße and on the market square. Sports, cultural, and social clubs will present their work, network, and recruit new members – a vibrant showcase of Rudolstadt's club life, underscoring the festival's roots in the city community.

19th Open Thuringian Dance Competition

Sunday features the 19th Open Thuringian Dance Competition «Thüringer Löwe»: around 500 dancers from children's dance, hip-hop, folklore, and show dance will compete on the market stage – one of the largest open dance competitions in Central Germany.
