Three-day wine festival in the Wörth district of Schaidt on the edge of the Bienwald forest
Schaidt is one of the four districts of the town of Wörth am Rhein and is located about eight kilometers west of the town center on the edge of the large Bienwald forest. Although Schaidt itself is not a wine-growing town in the narrower sense, the wine festival has been a firmly established event for decades: vintners from the Südliche Weinstraße (Southern Palatinate Wine Route) and the neighboring Maximiliansau region serve their wines here, and the connection to Palatinate wine culture is omnipresent.
The Schaidt clubs organize the festival together over three days. The festival tent or festival grounds in the town center are the hub, with the sports club, fire department, music club, and church community operating their stands around it. The offerings range from Palatinate classics like Saumagen (stuffed pig's stomach), Bratwurst (fried sausage), and Flammkuchen (a type of flatbread) to salads, desserts, and coffee in the afternoon.
The music program is typically Southern Palatinate: brass band music during the morning pint (Frühschoppen), dance bands, or DJ sets in the evenings. Palatinate songs and sing-along music shape the mood, and the audience is a mix of generations. The proximity to Alsace adds an international flair – conversations in German, Palatinate dialect, and French are not uncommon.
Schaidt is located between the Bienwald forest and the Rhine floodplain, an extraordinary natural landscape. Those who combine the wine festival with a hiking day can cross the large forest or explore the Rhine meadows near Maximiliansau. Wörth itself is easily accessible by car or train from Karlsruhe.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years: opening on Friday evening, family program on Saturday afternoon, morning pint (Frühschoppen) on Sunday with brass music.
The complete 2026 program will be published in the event calendar of the city of Wörth am Rhein.
