Running in the heart of the Hanseatic city

The Rostock City Run has been one of the city's fixed sporting highlights since the 1990s. Organised by Rostocker Citylauf e.V. together with the agency PRO EVENT, the run leads through the historic centre of the Hanseatic and university city: from the Neuer Markt via the Rosengarten, August-Bebel-Straße, Steintor, as well as Lange Straße and Kröpeliner Straße.

Courses for everyone

The offer ranges from short children's and school runs over distances of three, six, and ten kilometres to a half marathon and a relay. The City Run thus appeals to ambitious competitive athletes as well as families and amateur runners. Music, entertainment, and refreshment stations along the route ensure a festive mood.

Local context

For the duration of the run, the city centre is closed to traffic and belongs entirely to the runners and the public. The City Run thus makes the historic centre of Rostock in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern experienceable as a sporting stage and is considered the largest running event in the region.
