Reggae and tribute acts on a Spreewald island — accessible only by punt or on foot
The Wotschofska island in the Spreewald, about 3.5 km from Lübbenau, is accessible via the canals by punt (Spreewald boat), by bicycle on the hiking trail, or on foot — cars are forbidden, and the Gasthaus Wotschofska has no car access. This very location is what makes the festival so appealing: concerts with international headliners in a completely car-free atmosphere, with Spreewald charm and an open-air stage under the sky.
The 2026 lineup is top-notch: The Wailers — the legendary Jamaican reggae band that once performed with Bob Marley — will play reggae, roots-reggae, and ska. Patrick Snow is considered the "world's most successful Cat Stevens interpreter" and presents a well-crafted tribute show. Concert starts at 7 PM and lasts into the night.
The punt shuttle will take you from the Großer Spreewaldhafen Lübbenau (Dammstr. 77a) to the island starting at 4 PM. The last departure is at 5 PM — after that, there are no more shuttles. Return journey around midnight. Those taking the 3.5 km Spreewald path on foot or by bike should bring a headlamp for the way back, as the trail is not illuminated.
As the Wotschofska island is surrounded by a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve area, strict rules apply: no outside food, no littering in the landscape, and the Gasthaus will be closed to regular day-trippers from 2 PM on concert day. The canal microclimate and the reed-lined shores are part of the experience — a reggae anthem about still water has a different effect here than at an urban open-air event.
In 2026, the festival once again leverages its unique location as a marketing asset: a concert on a Spreewald island, car-free, under the open sky, with reed-lined shores as a backdrop. The Wailers are considered one of the most important living reggae bands — their performances in Germany are rare, making the Spreewald date all the more appealing. Patrick Snow, as a tribute artist, brings the calmer element to the program with Cat Stevens classics like 'Wild World,' 'Father and Son,' and 'Peace Train.'
The festival is organized by the Lübbenau Tourist Information in cooperation with local partners. Advance ticket sales start December 2025.
