Rock, Punk, and Alternative Open Air in a family-friendly atmosphere just 45 minutes from Berlin
Caputh is a district of the Schwielowsee municipality in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district – just a three-quarters of an hour from Berlin, situated on the west bank of the lake of the same name. Albert Einstein had his summer house here, and Caputh Castle overlooks the town. It is in this classically rural-idyllic Brandenburg setting that Rock in Caputh has been taking place for several years – an open-air festival with rock, punk, and alternative music, which deliberately curates a family-friendly size and foregoes mass appeal.
Programmatically, Rock in Caputh is a home game for the Brandenburg and Berlin indie, punk, and hard rock scene. The lineup changes annually; in 2026, the Berlin punk rock band Herzblut will perform with their catchy, energetic live sets, the alternative indie-punk formation GLANDS with two vocalists and synthesizer elements, Therealhasenscheisse, and headliner Mandel Kok Schnaps. Additionally, the winner of the regional band contest, Don Kopischke, will give their festival set.
Camping opens at 11 AM, and the festival grounds open at 1:30 PM in the Caputh industrial park. The organizers focus on a family-friendly atmosphere: short distances, low prices, regional catering, card payment at the drink stands, and a strong volunteer crew. Those coming from Schwielowsee itself and presenting their ID card pay the reduced local rate of €28 instead of €38 at the entrance.
In advance sale, a day ticket costs €34, and at the box office, it's €38. Schwielowsee residents pay €28 at the box office. Children up to 6 years old have free admission. Tickets are available via the festival website rockincaputh.de and the ticketing portal Eventim Light. The 2026 festival is listed on the official Berlin tourism ticket portal.
The municipality of Schwielowsee (with its districts Caputh, Geltow, and Ferch) is one of Berlin's most popular local recreation areas. It is located directly on the lake, on the edge of the Westhavelland Nature Park, and is very easily accessible by train and car. Rock in Caputh is one of the festivals that consistently utilizes this location between rural idyll and urban proximity — Berlin festival-goers are the most important target group.
Rock in Caputh 2026 opens its festival grounds in the Caputh industrial park on May 9, 2026. Camping opens at 11 AM, and the festival area opens at 1:30 PM. Organizer Rock in Caputh once again focuses on a deliberately family-friendly atmosphere with a regional lineup and affordable admission.
Headliner for 2026 is the Brandenburg band Mandel Kok Schnaps. The program is complemented by Don Kopischke (winner of the regional band contest), GLANDS (High Energy Alternative Indie Punk with double vocals and synthesizers), Herzblut (Punk rock from Berlin with powerful earworms), and Therealhasenscheisse.
