One of Europe's largest rock festivals on the Zeppelinfeld in Nuremberg
Rock im Park was launched in 1997 to mirror the traditional Rock am Ring festival at the Nürburgring in Southern Germany: The same lineup at two locations simultaneously, the same Pentecost weekend tradition, but two very different atmospheres. Since 2002, Rock im Park has consistently taken place on the Zeppelinfeld am Dutzendteich in Nuremberg — a historically sensitive site that is recontextualized by the festival.
The Zeppelinfeld is part of the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds. Since the 1990s, the monumental grandstand and surrounding field have been used as a venue for civil society events — from major sporting events to concerts. Rock im Park has definitively made the area a hub for young festival culture: Over 70,000 camping spots, a main stage overlooking the Dutzendteich, five other stages, and numerous bars and food trucks.
Rock im Park is in the Champions League of festivals: Headliners are regularly global stadium rock and metal acts. In 2026, Linkin Park, Volbeat, Iron Maiden, Limp Bizkit, and The Offspring are at the top — flanked by Electric Callboy, Three Days Grace (Friday), Sabaton, The Offspring (Saturday), Papa Roach, and Architects (Sunday). A total of over 70 bands on six stages.
The 2026 edition was already sold out in April 2026 — according to the organizers, one of the fastest sell-outs in festival history. Tickets are normally only available through the official website; a resale market exists via certified platforms.
An integral part of Rock im Park is camping. Over 70,000 spots on the surrounding fields are occupied days before the first concert. Several categories — from affordable general camping to premium camping areas with showers and a separate entrance — form the infrastructure. Camping is allowed from Tuesday before the festival begins (in 2026 from June 2nd); the musical program starts Friday, June 5th.
The 2026 edition of Rock im Park runs from Friday, June 5, to Sunday, June 7, 2026 — camping opens as early as Tuesday, June 2, 2026. The venue, as always, is the Zeppelinfeld am Dutzendteich, Nuremberg.
According to organizers Argo Konzerte, the festival was completely sold out in April 2026 — a record for the festival's history. Approximately 80,000 visitors are expected each festival day. Three days of live music on six stages with over 70 bands from rock, metal, and alternative genres.
3-day ticket including camping from approx. €270 (advance sale). Premium Camping from approx. €400. Sold out. Resale exclusively via official platforms.
