Reutlingen Music Night — RGI Format for Three Annual Dates

The Reutlingen Music Night is a format by the Reutlinger Gastro Initiative e.V. (RGI) — an association of restaurateurs and operators in Reutlingen's city center. Three music nights take place per year; the Winter Edition on November 14, 2026, is the last date of the year. The idea: On one evening, about a dozen Reutlingen venues — bars, cafés, restaurants — each host their own bands or DJs. Guests move along the city center streets from venue to venue, discovering bands from the regional scene, new DJs, and cover acts.

Format and Genres

The musical spectrum is deliberately broad: Classic rock cover bands alternate with indie acts, acoustic singer-songwriters, jazz trios, DJ sets (House, Disco, 80s/90s covers), and karaoke formats. Each venue curates its own program — this makes the festival a reflection of Reutlingen's musical and gastronomic diversity. Most venues start their programs between 8 PM and 10 PM; activity continues well past midnight. Admission to all venues is free — visitors consume as they wish directly on-site.

Reutlingen City Center — The Setting

The Reutlingen city center is located around the Marktplatz (Market Square) with the old town hall and St. Mary's Church. Wilhelmstraße as the main axis, Albstraße, Mauerstraße, and the squares around the market square form the festival area in a broader sense — all venues are within a 5 to 10-minute walk of each other. In winter, the atmosphere plays a role: illuminated shop windows, cold air outside, cozy warmth inside — the RGI's ideal seasonal contribution before the final Christmas market rush.

Reutlingen — Central Town at the Foot of the Swabian Jura

Reutlingen (approx. 117,000 inhabitants, seat of the Reutlingen district, postal code 08415) is one of Baden-Württemberg's larger cities and a central town for the southern Swabian Jura foothills. Known for its universities (Reutlingen University, ESB Business School), its textile industry history, and its proximity to the Swabian Jura. The Reutlinger Gastro Initiative has been bundling the creative energy of the city center's gastronomy for years, creating connection points between restaurateurs and the public with formats like the Music Night or the SchlemmerNacht (gourmet version).
