About inter:Komm! Festival
inter:Komm! Festival — edition 2026
2026 Program — the 10th Edition
The 2026 anniversary program doesn't rely on surprise effects but on a densely packed booking lineup. Booking Tamikrest as headliner is the strength of this edition: the Sahara rock band from Mali is rarely seen in Europe and won the Songlines Music Award with their last album. With Malphino and Madanii, two more acts will be on stage who have been celebrated by the avant-world music scene in recent years — Cumbia with theater, avant-pop with R&B accents.
The opening evening on Friday with Yagody and Frikun presents a crossover that summarizes the festival's DNA: Ukrainian Balkan folklore theatricality meets Spanish-West African Tuareg grooves. Sunday concludes with the Family Day — no headliners, but the intercultural landscape of associations with musical contributions, children's program, and street food.

inter:Komm! — intercultural open air since 2017
The inter:Komm! Festival was launched by Reutlingen's cultural center franz.K in response to the city's cultural diversity. Reutlingen is one of Baden-Württemberg's colorful medium-sized cities — around a third of the population has a history of migration, and the festival makes a cultural statement out of this reality. The tenth edition in 2026 coincides with an anniversary program that deliberately moves beyond clichés: no belly dancing clichés, no multicultural folklore postcard tone, but "cosmopolitan world music beyond clichés".
The 2026 Line-up — three days, three pulses
On Friday, June 12th, the festival opens with two extremely strong acts: Yagody from Ukraine — a theatrical performance combining traditional Balkan folklore with contemporary electronic sounds — and Frikun from Spain, a crossover project between West African electronics, Ethiopian jazz, and Tuareg grooves. Starts at 7 PM.
Saturday, June 13th brings the program to its peak: from 6:30 PM, Madanii from Berlin (avant-pop and alternative R&B with Persian roots), Malphino from London (hypnotic Cumbia with theatrical elements), and headlining, Tamikrest from Mali — the award-winning Sahara rock band whose last album won the Songlines Music Award. Tamikrest's sets are rarely seen in Europe — an unusual booking achievement for a free festival.
Sunday, June 14th from 2 PM is Family Day: performances by migrant associations from Reutlingen and the region, Clown Otsch, children's program, and food stalls. The setting underscores the intercultural character — not lifestyle multiculturalism, but genuine encounters.
The echaz.Hafen — the stage
The echaz.Hafen is an urban open space on the banks of the Echaz river in Reutlingen — a few minutes' walk from the main train station, near the franz.K area. A temporary open-air setting with a main stage, food trucks from migrant associations, and food stalls with specialties from all over the world. Admission is free, making inter:Komm! an important low-threshold alternative to the region's major festivals (Honberg-Sommer, Mössinger Sommer).
franz.K — the organizer
franz.K is Reutlingen's most important alternative cultural center — concert hall, theater stage, meeting point for the cultural scene since the 1980s. The program ranges from punk and indie to world music, from readings to theater productions. The inter:Komm! Festival is one of franz.K's most important own productions.
