Design Market with a Clear Vision
HandmadeART is a series of markets that tours through southern German cities — Reutlingen has been a permanent stop since its premiere in 2022. The concept: exclusively handmade unique items, personally presented by their creators. No mass-produced goods, no wholesale, no second-hand. Those who get a stall are selected through a curation process.
What the Stalls Offer
The range includes fashion, jewelry, accessories, home accessories, garden items, food, and drinks. Themes such as sustainability and upcycling are at the forefront — many exhibitors use recycled materials, regional raw ingredients, or restored vintage pieces. Exhibitors come from the region (Swabian Jura, Stuttgart, Tübingen) and from all over Germany.
Reutlingen Market Square
The venue is Reutlingen's central market square, overlooking the town hall and St. Mary's Church. Its location at the foot of the Swabian Jura gives the market a special atmosphere — and the downtown shops are open for business on Sundays, making the market a full-day shopping and strolling destination.
Reutlingen — City Between Tübingen and Stuttgart
With around 116,000 inhabitants, Reutlingen is the district capital of the Reutlingen district (Baden-Württemberg) and the sixth-largest city in the state. Known for its textile history and its close proximity to the Swabian Jura, Reutlingen boasts a strong design scene — young manufactories, a well-developed university location (Reutlingen University with a focus on design and textiles), and a vibrant city center. HandmadeART leverages precisely this environment.
